Today for Personal Progress, be sure to record in your journal any thoughts and feelings you have about how those you serve may have felt. What did you feel as you served someone else?

"And he commanded them that there should be no contention one with another, but that they should look forward with one eye, having one faith and one baptism, having their hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another." Mosiah 18:21

25 May 2013

Welcome to Memorial Day weekend!! This is the weekend we celebrate those who have given their lives so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy each day. Take a few minutes this weekend to think about what that means to you. Since this weekend should be about service, we are going to do Good Works 6:

Spend at least three hours giving service outside your family. Ask your ward or branch Relief Society president or a community leader for suggestions for service. For example, you might take care of children while parents attend the temple; collect, make, or recondition toys or games for a nursery; accept an assignment to clean the meetinghouse; or perform errands for or read to a homebound person or others in need. Record in your journal the reactions of the person you served and possible goals for future service opportunities.

Today for Personal progress, talk with your parents and local church leaders, missionaries, community service organizations or scouting leaders to see if they have a need you can help meet through service. Make a plan to serve. If you can, try to complete this service on Monday. If you can't complete this service as soon as you can.

Thank you to all those who serve our country. We appreciate all you do.

Make service your focus this weekend and we will pick up again on Tuesday.

7 May 2013

Today for Personal Progress, if you've been keeping up on recognizing those who serve you and recording those acts in your journal, do that again today and you can sign off on Good Works 1. Way to go!

Also, read, watch or listen to a general conference talk on Womanhood. Identify the the important attributes of being a wife and mother and record your thoughts in your journal. Here are some talks to choose from:
Also, we are starting Integrity 4 today.

Look up the word integrity in a dictionary. Interview your mother, grandmother, or another woman you respect about her understanding and application of the word. Make a list of ways you can make your actions consistent with your knowledge of right and wrong, and record in your journal what it means to you to have integrity.

All you need to do today is look up the meaning of the word integrity.

6 May 2013

Today for Personal progress, we are starting Divine Nature 2.

As a young woman, you are blessed with divine feminine qualities. Increase your understanding of an appreciation for womanhood. Read Proverbs 31:10-31 and two talks on womanhood from a conference issue of the church magazines. Review what "The Family: A Proclamation to the World"  says about being a wife and a mother. Then ask your mother or another mother you admire what she things are important attributes for bring a mother. List the attributes in your journal. Then choose one of those attributes and strive to develop it. After two weeks, report your success to a parent or leader.

So today, read Proverbs 31: 10-31.

And recognize those who serve you.

5 May 2013

Today, we finish Integrity 3. We've read in the scriptures about those who demonstrated integrity this week. Now it's your turn to share your story. Today, in testimony meeting, share about a time when you had the courage to show integrity. Once you've done that, you can sign it off. HOORAY!

Keep on with acknowledging those who serve you. Only 2 more days after today and you'll be done with Good Works 1.

Also, if you forgot to finish up Faith 4 last week, this week is your chance to finish it. Listen carefully to the Sacrament hymns and prayers and think about why we take the bread and water each week. Think about the promises you made at baptism. Record in your journal how your understanding of these promises increases your faith in the Savior. Once you've done that, you can sign off on Faith 4 too! HOORAY AGAIN!

The Savior is the perfect example of integrity; He did what He promised the Father He would do. Read 3 Nephi 11:10–11. Study the lives of other individuals in the scriptures who lived with integrity. Read Genesis 39; the book of Esther;Job 2:327:3–6Daniel 3 and 6; Acts 26Doctrine and Covenants 124:15; andJoseph Smith—History 1:21–25. In your journal identify the ways these people demonstrated integrity. Think of a time when you had the courage to show integrity, especially when it was not easy or popular. Share your experience and your feelings about it in a testimony meeting or lesson or with a parent or leader.

Today, read 3 Nephi 11:10-11  and think about all the things the Savior promised he would do.  Also, study Genesis 39. Identify the ways Joseph demonstrated integrity.

28 April 2013

Hey Guys, sorry again for the delay in posting. Our Young Women's Camp fundraiser was this weekend and I was just not able to think about anything else. Since my advice to you if you miss a day is just to pick up where you left off, that's what we are going to do.

Hopefully you still worked on Divine Nature 4 and continued doing what you said you'd do to remember the Savior. If you did that over these past few days, you are done! Check it off.

And maybe you kept working on Good works 1 by recognizing acts of service others do for you?

The only thing you may have forgotten about was the third Sunday of Faith 4 to make a special effort to listen to the sacrament prayers and ponder the covenants you made at baptism. If you did that today, WAY TO GO! Check it off.  If not, do it next Sunday. I'll remind you in case you forgot this week.

Ok, so let's keep on keeping on.

Tomorrow we start Integrity 3. and I'm super excited about it. I hope you are too.

2013 April 25

For Personal Progress today, read Mosiah 2:17, Mosiah 4:26, and 3 Nephi 13:1-4 and record in your journal the small acts of service your family has performed for you today.

Can you recite the Sacrament prayers from memory yet? Give it a try. You need to have both prayers memorized by Sunday. Also, remember to do what you said you'd do to help you remember the Savior each day.

2013 April 24

Today for Personal Progress, we are starting a new value so today is heavy compared to most days. But, you can do it! We are almost done with Divine Nature 4 and Faith 1. We will finish them both on Sunday.

Today, we are starting Good Works 1. Read:
Record in your journal the small, quiet acts of service your family did for you today.

Keep on memorizing the Sacrament prayers. Can you recite, from memory, the prayer over the bread? It's a little different from the water so be careful. Here's the water prayer with just the first letter of the word. You can do it.
