2013 March 18

Ready for your first challenge?

Today, we are going to start off with Faith #1

The first principle of the gospel is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Learn about faith from the scriptures and living prophets. Read Hebrews 11Alma 32:17–43;Ether 12:6–22; and Joseph Smith—History 1:11–20. Read two general conference talks on faith. Exercise your own faith by establishing a habit of prayer in your life. Begin by regularly saying your morning and evening prayers. After three weeks of following this pattern, discuss with a parent or leader what you have learned about faith and how daily personal prayer has strengthened your faith. In your journal express your feelings about faith and prayer.

There are a few reasons why I chose this one first. One is because it requires us to pray twice a day. If you have nothing else to pray about, ask for help with your Personal Progress! We will all need it.  Another reason is that this experience takes three weeks or 21 days. They say after 21 days of doing something, it becomes a habit. For the simple reason of you're developing a habit, this experience may be difficult. But that will just give you something to pray about, right? Anyway, on to the challenge.

Today, say your prayers morning and night. That's it!

Alternate for those who have already completed this experience: Go out of your way to do a small service today.
